BRYT Clinical Professional Development: Anxiety & Early Psychosis
BRYT Clinical Professional Development: Anxiety & Early Psychosis
Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School
215 Fitchburg Street
Marlborough, MA 01752
Dr. Julia Martin Burch, Staff Psychologist at the McLean Anxiety Mastery Program, will facilitate a deep dive into understanding and addressing anxiety in children and adolescents during our morning session. The BRYT team recently participated in a professional learning session led by Dr. Burch and were struck by the quality of her overall presentation and, in particular, the helpful, practical tools she shared. We anticipate the session with Dr. Burch to integrate lots of practical skill development (for clinicians) and specific tools for use in working with young people struggling with anxiety — including many students identified as school- or class-avoidant.
After lunch, Dr. Michelle Friedman-Yakoobian, Clinical Team Leader at the CEDAR Clinic, will present on and lead a discussion about early psychosis — what psychosis is, early warning signs among children and adolescents, and approaches to assessment, early intervention, and treatment.
Please note:
Cost for this session is $55 for BRYT Network members and $110 for non-members. Fee also includes coffee and lunch as part of the training.
Continuing education credits for social workers and LMHCs will be offered
