The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health is pleased to announce that Katherine Houle, bryt Director of School and District Support, has received the 2024 School Mental Health Champion Award. This award recognizes an individual who has provided exceptional leadership and vision in the advancement of school mental health. Houle was recognized and honored for her significant work at the 2024 Annual Conference on Advancing School Mental Health in Orlando, FL.

“Katherine’s leadership, dedication, and service to both bryt and the field of school mental health are exemplary. Those who have had the privilege of working alongside her recognize that her true impact extends far beyond her empathy and active listening skills,” said Paul Hyry-Dermith, bryt National Director. “Katherine embodies the essence of transforming schools’ approaches to better support students and families facing significant mental health challenges.”

“I am deeply honored to receive the 2024 School Mental Health Champion Award,” said Houle. “This recognition highlights the incredible work of the bryt team and our school partners in supporting students and families through challenging times. I’m grateful to be part of a movement that helps students return to school and thrive.”

In her nearly 20 years of leadership, Houle has played a critical role in bryt’s development as a leader in youth mental health support for schools.
